2019 INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE AWARDS (ASIA PACIFIC)

Tagumpay! Cacao farmers from Davao City, Philippines shine at the prestigious 2019 International Chocolate Awards – Asia Pacific with seven (7) awards, bringing our total accolades to 44 including the 2017 Cocoa Excellence Programme ‘Best 50 Beans in the world’ and 2019 Heirloom Designation ’16th in the world’.

We dedicate our latest wins to our hard working in-house and neighbor farmers who help us grow and produce high quality cacao beans.  Mabuhay!

The 2019 Asia-Pacific competition was held for the second time as an independent competition in Asia and saw a record number of entries with over 900 products registered from more than 130 companies from all around the Asia-Pacific region, including entries from Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia , Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and more.The judging panel included judges from the USA, Europe, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and members of our international Grand Jury panel around the world.

2019 GREAT TASTE AWARDS (UK)

Cacao farmers from Davao City, Philippines received another two (2) accolades from the London-based Great Taste Awards! Great Taste, described as the Oscar’s of the food world, is an acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink in the UK. It is the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’. The Great Taste stars are high respected seals of approval.



We’re truly honored to have received nine (9) Great Taste seals of approval since 2016. Mabuhay!

There were 12,772 products entered this year and only 38% entries were recognized by Great Taste. Over 500 judges, including specially trained food writers inputting judges’ comments, came together at 75 judging days from March through to early July.

Cacao farmers from Davao shine again at the annual international competition for chocolates. London-based Academy of Chocolate awarded Malagos five (5) wins and four (4) commendations!

So proud & humbled as this was our first time to compete in the ‘Filled Chocolate’ category for our new products.
