Sharing with you our first great news for 2019. Our very own cacao farm – Puentespina Farm is now designated HEIRLOOM producer of quality & flavor cacao beans at origin by the Heirloom Cacao Preservation Fund in partnership with the Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA) & US Dept of Agriculture (USDA)! Announced during the FCIA event in San Francisco on January 12, 2019. Another first for the country! Mabuhay🇵🇭!

Puentespina Farm’s entry was designated the 16th heirloom cacao in the world!

With this significant designation, Malagos Chocolate's Puentespina Farm joins 15 other heirloom cacao farmers around the world from Bolivia, Ecuador, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Tanzania and Madagascar.

When we raise the awareness of how valuable our cacao is, we are able to uplift the lives of farmers and encourage the growth of an entire industry," says Rex Puentespina, proud farmer & chocolate maker of Malagos Chocolate.
