Cacao was first introduced to the Philippines when the country became part of the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade. It was the fortuitous outcome of the Philippines’s inclusion in the historic route that first circumnavigated the world 500 years ago. These bars of Malagos Chocolate commemorate this event, and the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan, where the Filipino stood equal to the best of the world.

Storage
Storage
Chocolates should be stored in a clean, dry, cool, and odorless place, such as a pantry cabinet. The recommended temperature range is 18°C to 22°C. It's important to keep them away from heat and light. Avoid storing them in the fridge, refrigerator, or chiller, as sudden changes in temperature can cause a whitish coating, known as 'bloom', to appear on their surface. 'Bloom' is caused when crystals of fat or sugar rise to the surface of the chocolates. Although bloomed chocolates are still safe to eat, they may have an altered appearance and texture.
